Jiu Jitsu

Philosophy

Jiu-Jitsu is a wonderful and at times magical Martial Art. Its ability to enable a weaker and smaller but well trained person to overcome size and strength is unmatched by any other Martial Art. Those that stay the course and begin to see the immense potential they have within this Art will be rewarded with a new found confidence and a life long passion for learning.

"Always assume that your opponent is going to be bigger, stronger and faster than you; so that you learn to rely on technique, timing and leverage rather than brute strength." ― Helio Gracie

Chad Hughes

Instructor

Chad Hughes has spent a great deal of his life studying grappling. He spent four years on the Superior Spartan wrestling team in high school. For three years he trained Muay Thai and submission wrestling with Drake Ritchie. Another two years were spent at the renowned Minnesota Martial Arts Academy where he once again studied Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He continues his Jiu-Jitsu training with BJJ Black Belts Jared Fierebend and Brock Larson. Chad is always analyzing grappling techniques and principles and pays close attention to the fundamentals that are so important in developing grappling skill.
